Cottage cheese cookies with apples is a very popular recipe in Poland. Cookies are soft and tasty and of course very easy to do. On this page you can find the slightly healthier version of cottage cheese cookies, as I am using whole wheat flour and xylitol sugar. Those cookies are a bit less sweet than with standard wheat flour, but they still keep the sweet taste of baked apples.


  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 200g cottage cheese
  • 200g butter (softened to room temperature),
  • 2-3 apples
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar or xylitol sugar


  1. Place all ingredients: whole wheat flour, cottage cheese, butter and sugar in a medium bowl,
  2. Mix ingridedns togther and process until dough starts to form,
  3. Leave the dough for 15-20 minutes for chilling,
  4. Peel the apples and cut them into pieces,
  5. Heat the oven to 180 degrees,
  6. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper,
  7. After cooling roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thinkess,
  8. With a round cookies cutter, cut out your cookies, place the apples and fold the dough in half ,
  9.  Bake for about 15-20 minutes,
  10. Before serving, you can dust the cookies with powdered sugar.
