Pumpkin soup with red lentils

Pumpkin season is in full swing, so today I offer an easy pumpkin soup with red lentils.
Ingredients (5l soup):
- 350g red lentils
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 5 potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 red pepper, chopped
- 1 small can of corn
- 3 chopped and peeled tomatoes
- 1 large onion
- 200g bacon or sausage thickly sliced
- 1 teaspoon of sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/3 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
Recipe:
- Put the lentils into a medium bowl and cover them with cold water, leave for 2 hours for soaking,
- Fill a large pot with 4l water, add chopped and fried potatoes and onion ,
- Fry the sliced sausage in the pan, and add it to soup,
- Add the salt, sweet paprika, pepper and cook the soup for 20 minutes,
- Add chopped red pepper, pumpkin puree , corn and red lentil, continue cooking for another 15 minutes,
- At the end add: chopped tomatoes and tomato puree, cook for 5 minutes. Taste and add ground nutmeg and turmeric ,
- Serve the soup with roasted pumpkin seeds.
