Red lentil soup

Fast and easy to do soup, that takes less than an hour to make. The perfect dish for cold autumn and winter days.
Ingredients (5l soup):
- 350g red lentils
- 5 potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 red pepper, chopped
- 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup of frozen green peas
- 200g bacon or sausage thickly sliced
- 1 cup of tomato puree
- 3 chopped and peeled tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon of sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
Recipe:
- Put the lentils into a medium bowl and cover them with cold water, leave for 2 hours for soaking,
- Fill a large pot with 4l water, add chopped carrots and potatoes,
- Fry the sliced sausage in the pan, and add it to soup,
- Add the salt, sweet paprika, pepper and cook the soup for 20 minutes,
- Add chopped red pepper, frozen green peas and red lentil, continue cooking for another 20-30 minutes,
- At the end add: chopped tomatoes and tomato puree, cook for 5 minutes. Taste and add salt if necessary.
